Hill & Wilkinson has continued to have success over the years because of our ability to retain quality employees and create a sense of loyalty within the company. We support filling open positions first from within the organization to give employees that are already invested in our culture and values avenues to advance and explore new roles. This translates to great employment opportunities for all of our interns at the conclusion of their 10-12 week time with us. Over the course of your internship, you will gain valuable experience in the methods and practices of the construction industry as well as begin to build long-lasting professional relationships. It is our sincere hope that whether your future lies with us or somewhere else, your internship will produce knowledge and insight that will go with you into your professional future. Your time with us will be divided into the following three phases which represent the primary career paths you might take within our company.
Estimating (3 to 4 weeks)
Assist our estimating staff during the bidding process. Learn take-offs and scope review with subcontractors. Differentiate the various types of bids and proposals and our overall bidding philosophy.
Layout-Engineering (3 to 4 weeks)
Aid our field engineering crew with layout regarding civil pre-planning and post-construction verification. Learn the methods and tools needed to perform these tasks.
Phase III (3 to 4 weeks)
Project Engineer Assistant
Assist and support a Project Engineer in the field. Understand the submittal process and the importance of coordination between trades. Learn several scheduling techniques required to complete a project on time and within budget.
Compensation will range from $12 to $14 per hour. We may negotiate on an individual basis living arrangements during our interviewing process and may include a furnished apartment to aid in your relocation to the Dallas area.
Hill & Wilkinson appreciates your interest in our company and the internships that we provide. We look forward to receiving your application for available internships. Please send your resume to Michael Oswald at firstname.lastname@example.org .
